I have been interested in photography since 1973 when I was also into mountaineering and the natural world. It was a natural evolution into landscape and travel photography and subsequently into freelancing and stock.
Studying photography at 'A' level extended my interest into black and white although colour is still my prime medium for commercial work.
Although using a tripod and slow, fine-grained film produced saleable 35mm slides an upgrade to medium format proved beneficial. The larger transparencies were more attractive to picture buyers and the more deliberate way of working brought greater satisfaction. But that was before the advent of digital which has transformed my photography yet again. At last I have the best of both worlds - medium format quality from a 35mm sized SLR camera
